At Jackson Family Dentistry we work to make your visit as effortless as possible. The most frustrating topic our patients deal with is dental insurance, and we totally understand! We work with many insurance companies on a daily basis and it can be very stressful for even us. Below are some common questions we hear related to insurance plans. Perhaps this will make things more clear for you before your next visit and give you a little more peace of mind.
This is the most common question and while the answer is yes, let’s define this a little further. A dental office that “takes your insurance” just means that the dental office will file a claim to your insurance on your behalf. The office charges their normal fee and what is not covered by your insurance, you would be responsible for. Therefore, the office is not tied to any fees dictated by the insurance company. Our office accepts all insurance plans and we are “in-network” for most of them, however, we will always check with your insurance company first before we start a procedure.
This is the question that all of our patients really want answered. In-network ensures the patient will be paying the least amount possible for services rendered. This is because your insurance company has already negotiated the procedures and fees on your behalf. This is why some procedures are covered by one insurance company and not by another. For example, let’s say you need a cavity filled and the office visit is normally $100. If you are going to an in-network dentist the price could be $50. In this example, the patient saves 50% by going to an in-network dentist!
Our goal is to be as transparent as possible and to maximize your dental insurance benefits. We work diligently to ensure there are few surprises on your insurance bill. We accomplish this by filing all of the paperwork ourselves and verifying your dental benefits with your provider. Do you know what your dental insurance benefits are? If not, no problem, we can find out quickly because the insurance companies work with us. All we need is your name, date of birth, insurance provider, and group number. Give us a call or send an email through our contact form on our “contact us” page, to quickly find out your benefits. At Jackson Family Dentistry, we make dentistry simple. Call us today, you’ll be glad you did.
