Strengthen Jaw Bone
Enjoy A Smile For Life
If you suffer from tooth loss or multiple severely damaged teeth, full-arch implants may be right for you. Unlike traditional dentures, which are simply held onto your gums through friction, full-arch implants attach directly to your jaw. Because of this, dentures supported by implants will never shift or move, and will support the health of your jaw bone.
Dental implants are attached directly to your jaw bone and they stimulate the jaw to keep it strong, just like the root of a natural tooth. This prevents bone loss, which is a common problem when wearing traditional dentures.
Dental implants usually last 30+ years, and most patients are able to keep their implants for the rest of their lives.
Unlike traditional dentures, your full-arch restoration will never move or shift, since it's anchored strongly to multiple dental implants. You can eat, speak, and chew without worrying about your teeth moving.
Full-arch implants use a series of 4-6 dental implants that are placed in your upper or lower arch of teeth. These implants are used as anchor points to support a full set of false teeth. Both removable implant-supported dentures and fixed, non-removable implant-supported dentures are available.
The full-arch implant placement process begins with a comprehensive oral exam. Your doctor will examine your jaw, gums and teeth, and take images and x-rays of your face to determine if you’re a good candidate for treatment. In some cases, before your implants can be placed, you may need to have your remaining teeth extracted, or have other procedures like bone grafting or alveoloplasty.
Once you’re ready for your implants, treatment will begin and our team will clean and numb your mouth. Then, he will create an opening in your gum and jaw tissue, place an implant, and suture the area shut. This process will be repeated several times until all of your implants have been successfully placed.
You’ll be sent home with recovery instructions, and you will get a temporary set of dentures to wear while your mouth heals. Over the next several months, you will come in for multiple follow-up appointments. We will examine your mouth and take images and impressions of your teeth, and begin the process of building your permanent set of implant-supported dentures.
Once your mouth has healed and your implant-supported dentures have been built, you’ll come into our office for a final appointment. Doctor will attach your implant-supported restoration and provide you with instructions about how to care for your new smile.
If you have lost all of your teeth or most of your teeth, but you still have a strong jaw bone that can support multiple dental implants and are free of oral health issues like gum disease, full-arch implants may be the right choice for you.
